WIKD’s Hall of Fame

Listed below are station alumni that current WIKD members have decided deserve special recognition for their contributions to our station. Everyone listed has played a major role in our history as a station.

 

Steve Graff (pictured left) – Founded the Broadcast Club in the Spring Term of 1990, and began the movement that would eventually lead to the creation of WIKD 102.5 FM.

 

 

Todd Gumbrecht – Cofounded the Broadcast Club and helped develop the strategy of “infiltration and propaganda” in order to meet his and Steve Graff’s goal of establishing a campus radio station.

 

 

Carrie Czernikowski – Treasurer of the Broadcast Club, First Training Director, and author of the Training Manual.

 

 

Aaron Gee – First Chief Engineer of the Broadcast Club (and WERU). Helped develop and set up the engineering aspects of the station.

 

 

Jesse Lesperance – Alongside David Yarwood, completed the LPFM construction permit application and completed WERU’s first broadcast on 99.1 FM. Applied and was approved to change call sign to WIKD.

Al Reynolds – Alongside Mark Repanshek and a group of others, gave WIKD a much-needed makeover, both aesthetically, and technically. Helped apply for the change from 99.1 FM to 102.5 FM. In addition to that, he helped author/co-author/rewrite most manuals used today by the station including, the Chief Engineer Manual and the Training Manual. He continues to help the WIKD Team to this day with technical matters and station guidance.

 

 

Mark Repanshek – Alongside Al Reynolds and a group of others, gave WIKD a much-needed makeover, both aesthetically, and technically. Helped apply for the change from 99.1 FM to 102.5 FM. He continues to help the WIKD Team to this day with technical matters and station guidance.

 

 

James Dougan – Made the radio station a regular club and extracurricular activity outside of the classroom by popularizing the station on-campus.

 

Sam Lenderman – Popularized and largely developed WIKD Entertainment as a serious endeavor from the radio station for on and off campus live DJing. Helped write several manuals including the Event Coordinator Manual and the Music Director Manual.
